Once upon a time .........

I am starting a new series titled "Once upon a time" to document the numerous experiences of life at a different time. I would be playing the part of a story teller. Of late I have come to realize the importance of a story teller in our lives. The story teller is the last vestige that connects the current times and current state of mind to a long lost time. We should have more story tellers and even better would be the culture of documenting and reading history for there is much to learn from history. History repeats itself because people forget history.

I realized its importance when my dad suffered a heart attack recently and suddenly it struck me that in single stroke of fate all the stories that only he knew would have simply vanished from the surface of earth; some real moments lived by real people, simply gone for ever.

So in this series I will write about my experiences and the stories that I have heard. They will be a mix of both unique and ordinary events because life is made of such a mix.

As put beautifully in the "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring".............

And some things that should not have been forgotten were lost. History became legend. Legend became myth.

I don't want that to happen.
